Read AI visibility with the evidence in view.

What mentions, recommendations and citations can tell you—and how to compare them carefully.

An AI visibility report is a view of particular questions, answers and measurement runs. To use it well, start with what was asked and what actually came back, then move to the summary. The original answer is often more useful than a headline percentage.

Start with the questions being measured.

A question that names your brand and a question that asks for a provider without naming one test different things. The first can reveal recognition or how the brand is described. The second can show whether the brand earns a place in the response.

Keep those groups separate when you interpret results. Also look at language, market and the audience implied by the wording. A changed prompt can change the answer even if nothing on your website changed.

Distinguish the signals.

A mention means the brand appears. A recommendation means the answer presents it as an option. A citation means a page is linked as a source. These signals can occur together, but one does not automatically imply the others.

Read the surrounding sentence. A brand may be named in a comparison, a warning or a qualified suggestion. That context matters more than a bare count.

  • Mentioned: the answer names the brand.
  • Recommended: the answer presents it as a choice.
  • Cited: the answer links a source, which may be your site or another publisher.

Check coverage before comparing percentages.

Look at which prompts and providers completed successfully. A failed request is missing evidence, not an answer that omitted the brand.

When two reports cover different questions or have different completion rates, their percentages may not be directly comparable. Read the available coverage alongside the result and avoid turning an incomplete run into a broad conclusion.

Open the cited page.

A citation makes a source easier to inspect. It does not establish that every statement in the answer is accurate or that the source fully supports the claim.

Follow the reference and read the original response together. Check whether the link is an owned page, a third-party listing or another kind of source. That helps distinguish a content opportunity from an issue in how the answer was formed.

Compare like with like over time.

Before interpreting a change, look for changes in prompts, providers, models, brand aliases and project settings. Stable questions make trends easier to discuss, but generated answers can still vary.

Use the results to identify questions worth investigating. If an important service is consistently missing or described unclearly, inspect the relevant website pages and external references before deciding on a fix.

Keep the measurement’s scope visible.

Opmerk records the answers produced by the configured project runs. That is useful evidence for those measurements. It is not a view into every conversation on an AI service or a guarantee of future recommendations.

A productive review brings the summary, the source answer and the next action together. Treat the report as a way to ask more precise questions about your website and brand.

TAKE IT INTO YOUR NEXT REVIEW

A meaningful visibility result has a question, an answer and enough context to explain what was measured.
